Trainer Charles O'Brien and jockey Declan McDonogh combined for a double at Gowran today as Zorba The Greek landed division one of the Cat Laughs Goes Racing June 6th Handicap.

The pair were earlier successful with head Great Wide Open and Zorba The Greek was made work similarly, with a half length win over Elusive In Paris

O'Brien later stated “at least we now know he goes on turf and he handles that fast ground.

"Declan told me he was going to drop him out last, and I said 'do you really think you are going to pass everything in the straight?', but he did and it worked out well. He'll go for something similar.”
