Ballydoyle’s Lipizanner (8/11) justified odds-on favouritism in the 4-runner Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race at Navan.

This sprint for the juveniles saw the successful Uncle Mo colt shed his maiden tag by half a length from main market rival Coulthard (9/4).

Lipizanner was appearing for the first time in 78 days. He’d finished fourth in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot on that occasion.

“Aidan (O'Brien) said the only way I'd get beat is if I tried to win too far. He said he was just ready to start back,” said Heffernan.

“I wouldn't have ridden him that way if I was let but he told me how to ride him and he won so there is probably plenty of improvement to come.

“He had very good runs, he was the favourite and he's won.”

A.J. Farragher, rider of Iva Batt trained by R. K. Watson, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a noise inside the 2 furlong marker.
