As has been well documented Byrnes Bloodstock Limited recently named a youngster No Deterrent. Perhaps a ‘Business As Usual’ might be on the way from the same source after the success of Thosedaysaregone in the Hollywoodbets Racing & Sports Betting (Q.R.) Handicap at Dundalk.
The Viking Hoard scandal recently rocked the sport seeing trainer Charles Byrnes suffer the withdrawal of his licence for a period of six months. He also got a €1000 fine and had to pay costs estimated at €2000.
Thosedaysaregone has since been moved to fellow Ballingarry County Limerick operator, William O’Doherty, and was partnered for this two miler by Byrnes’ son Philip.
Not seen since running in a Ballinrobe chase in September, useful jumper Thosedaysaregone found plenty for pressure in the straight to beat Melliferous by a length.
The successful handler was on lead-up duty here.
Ms L. O'Neill, rider of Ardamir (FR) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount missed the break.
