The Ross O'Sullivan-trained Dance Night Andday quickened up in good style to get off the mark in the Whistlin Donkeys Handicap at Leopardstown.
Colin Keane had his mount buried away in mid-division on the rail in the seven furlong contest but got the splits in the straight as she swooped to lead inside the final furlong.
The daughter of Buratino galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a three-length winning margin over Alabama Pearl
“She had run well in her maidens and obviously the last day it's very hard for a three-year-old to have their first run in a handicap at Galway, it's nearly impossible without experience,” said O'Sullivan.
“She had worked well during the week and we were very happy with her, we thought that she'd run a nice race. She had shown a nice level of ability at home.
“Colin was happy with her, he said that trip was fine and even going to a mile would be fine. He liked her and she gave him a nice feel.
“It was a nice track today and everything went well. I thought before turning in that 'God this is going to be hard' and then it just opened up. Somedays it does and somedays it doesn't.”
