Mystery Stowaway got a deserved win over flights to her name as she came home a very easy winner of the Patrickswell Mares Maiden Hurdle.
Successful in a bumper at Listowel last September, the John Ryan trained six-year-old since filled the runner-up spot on three occasions over obstacles.
Sent off the clear favourite this evening at 8/15, the daughter of Stowaway raced prominently on the outer under Danny Mullins.
She had all her rivals off the bridle as they entered the straight for the final time and she soon put the race to bed, stretching clear to score easily by thirty-three lengths. Hill Of Truth (10/1) finished second under Cathal Landers for Charles Byrnes, while the Alice Curran trained newcomer Glorious Singer (50/1) was another two and a half lengths back in third.
Ryan said of the Declan Donohoe owned winner: "She was due that. She's a smart filly. She has been unlucky and probably should have achieved more than she has achieved. There's something special about her. Everything about her is quality.
"We have her schooled over fences and she's a cracking filly to jump. I'm very fond of her. I have a full-brother and a half-sister to her at home, so I have three of the family."
