Kilbeggan completes a busy week for jumps racing enthusiasts on Sunday when the Co Westmeath town plays host to an interesting seven-race card.
There has been National Hunt racing on six days this week, with champion trainer Willie Mullins represented at Kilbeggan by four runners.
Mullins' Kolumbus tackles the opening Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle but needs to leave behind a disappointing effort when pulled up at this venue in April.
He has strong claims on previous form but faces a tough battle against the Andy McNamara-trained Jacobs Well third at Ballinrobe on his second hurdles start recently.
An hour later, Mullins' useful mare Miss Sapphire lines up in the Bloomfield House Hotel (Mares) Hurdle where she faces four rivals, including a previous conqueror Dont Kick Nor Bite
The Robert Tyner-trained mare beat Miss Sapphire when the pair met at Cork in April and while the Mullins horse has since won at Wexford, she faces stiff opposition as the pair reoppose on identical terms.
Ruby Walsh takes just one ride at the venue, on Mullins' Bamako Moriviere in the Mid Summer Monday 26th June Beginners Chase, and his presence on board must be taken as a positive booking on the 10-month-absent gelding.
The concluding Add Kilbegganraces On Snapchat Flat Race sees Mullins' newcomer Crumpledandcreased take on Ken's Well and Thinkinginmysleep both of whom have been placed in bumpers, while Yes Pat was third last time out over hurdles.
