The combination of Willie Mullins and Ryan Moore in a staying race has proved a profitable route to success in the past with a number of victories at Royal Ascot including this year with Thomas Hobson.

The pair team up again this afternoon at the Curragh with Laws Of Spin in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap, and punters have taken the hint.

The four-year-old Lawman gelding landed the Cesarewitch over the same course and distance last October and, while Laws Of Spin, has not been seen since, the market has spoken loudly in his favour.

Any quotes above 3/1 have been well taken, and Mullins’ charge is now a general 9/4 chance, while Neverushacon has also attracted interest in the two-mile event.

The Jessica Harrington-trained dual purpose gelding has been clipped from 16/1 into as low as 8/1.

Other horses supported on this afternoon’s card at the Curragh include Only Mine (7/4-5/4) in the 2.35, Katiymann (13/2-4/1) in the 3.40 and Groundfrost (14/1-9/1) in the 4.10. Wings Of Eagles Cracksman and French challenger Waldgeist are all challenging for favouritism in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at around the 5/2 mark.
