Mullins Gains Third Win as a Pro

Fri 19th Dec 2008, 14:22

Punters sided with Cru of the Willie Mullins-trained pair in the Irish Racing Annual Beginners Chase but that Paul Townend-ridden 3/1 market-leader could only manage a moderate fourth behind her stable companion, Derrymore Dawn under Emmet Mullins.

This was a third win in the professional ranks for young Mullins following on from Mustangsallyrally for Tom and Quiscover Fontaine also for Willie. He went up the far rail on Derrymore Dawn on the run-in and this looked a crucial move as he stayed on best to account for Irish Realm by one and three parts of a length. (EM)
