Well supported Minx Tiara (7/1 — 11/2) gained her first career win at Wexford today as the David O'Brien trained filly won the Three Rocks (Mares) Maiden Hurdle under jockey Sean Flanagan.

The daughter of Doyen was held up in mid-division before making progress to lead at the second last. From there the our year old filly stayed on well to beat Peterstown by two and a quarter lengths.

O'Brien later said "she was unlucky the first day in a point-to-point, so they boys (Fastey For Fun Syndicate) said we'll go to the track with her and have a bit of fun. I bought her from a neighbour of mine, Billy Cuddihy, and Double Windsor was bought off him too, so it's all working out.

"The few horses I have are running well now thank God. It keeps the thing going.

"She'll probably go for a handicap now or maybe a little novice. Sean said she was still green and she loves an ease in the ground. She was very green the first day over hurdles, she wasn't jumping as good and got detached but stayed on well.

"It probably wasn't the greatest race in the world but all you can do is win and hopefully keep improving."
