Some of the gloss was taken off the Ladbrokes World Series Hurdle after Solwhit had to be withdrawn on veterinary advice moments before the start, but nothing could stop Quevega lighting up Punchestown with a sizzling performance.
Willie Mullins' brilliant racemare jumped and travelled supremely well for Ruby Walsh and breezed past Reve De Sivola approaching the last where a silky jumped sealed an historic victory.
She merely had to be kept up to her work to coast home by five lengths and claim the Grade One prize for the fourth year in succession.
Walsh had earlier given the Mullins-trained Twinlight a peach of a ride to make virtually all in the Bibby Financial Services Handicap Chase.
The 8-1 chance was joined two-out by Far Away So Close but Walsh got a good jump from his mount at the last and drew a length and quarter clear.< Arvika Ligeonniere (7-2 favourite) brought up the hat-trick for Mullins and Walsh when routing the opposition in the Ryanair Novice Chase.
Pulled-up in the Arkle at Cheltenham, the eight-year-old bounced back with a nine and a half-length defeat of Oscars Well
The red-hot duo went on to complete a memorable four-timer when Upsie (9-10) beat stablemate Twigline in the Orchid Transport Mares Novice Hurdle, while it soon became a famous five for Mullins, who claimed the concluding Kildare Post INH Flat Race with Turnandgo (9-4 favourite) under his son, Patrick.
Cheltenham hero Big Shu (9-2 co-favourite) followed up with a memorable victory in the Avon Ri Coporate & Leisure Resort Chase For The La Touche Cup.
Barry Cash kicked some 20 lengths clear just before rejoining the racecourse proper on Peter Maher's charge he but almost stopped to a walk at the last and only just held on by a length and a quarter as Another Jewel and Bostons Angel stayed on.
Davy Russell and Gigginstown House Stud started where they left off on day two when winning the opening Stephens Green Hibernian Club Hurdle with Colm Murphy's Rye Martini (11-1).
