Raramauri came through to win the five furlong fillies' maiden in Tipperary for Willie McCreery and Nathan Crosse. Crown Leah was the red hot 4/6 favourite (backed in from 10/11) after a promising runner-up finish on debut at Navan.

She broke well and led narrowly under Pat Smullen but the distress signals became apparent over a furlong out.

At this stage, Raramauri threw down the gauntlet on the stands' side rail and moved to the front.

She quickened away nicely to hit the line a length and three parts to the good at 6/1. Kimono Girl at 14/1 came in second with the gambled on So Enjoy getting the each-way money in third. She had been 20/1 this morning and went off at 10/1.

This was Raramauri's third start and she has improved with each run - she started with a sixth in Navan and was then fourth at Down Royal.

Willie McCreery said: "Nathan did what he was told, gave her a lovely ride and she was nicely balanced the whole way and did it well.

"She is a full sister to Downforce and she is a smashing little filly. You probably won't see her again for the year because she is a light-framed filly. She is very honest and I just want her to grow into herself.

"Today was the first day she had a bit of an ease in the ground and she is a different filly on it - maybe like Downforce.

"I bought her as a present for my wife (Amanda) from Maurice Burns - so happy days. Although she called me and told me 'why didn't you tell me to come down?!'"
