Jockey Ian McCarthy substituted for the injured Alan Crowe (who suffered concussion in a fall at Downpatrick yesterday) to win the Prime Beef Handicap Hurdle, on the Christy Roche trained Tooman Lane at Thurles today.

Tooman Lane raced prominently, improved to lead before the third last before staying on well for a length and a half success over Kylebeg Krystie to provide McCarthy with his twentieth success.
