The Plan Man in the Gigginstown House Stud colours, cruised home in Cork’s two mile maiden hurdle for Tony Martin and Phillip Enright.
The four-year-old son of Jeremy had his first run over Timber at Leopardstown back in January when 11th in a 16-runner maiden hurdle. He had two outings on the flat last season for Andrew Oliver, the best of which came in Roscommon where he was beaten a short head by Protestant.
Today though the 7/1 shot was always moving nicely and started to creep into contention coming to the third last. Enright had him just ahead of Lisa’s Legacy jumping the second last and the pair powered away to win by nine lengths.
Lisa’s legacy (10/1) finished second. He was four and a quarter lengths ahead of third-placed Shantou Flyer (20/1). Knight’s Parade was all the rage this morning from 9/2 to 9/4 and was returned the 15/8 favourite for Gordon Elliott and Davy Condon. However, he was niggled at as the race developed and weakened to come home 11th.
“He travelled and jumped very well. The better ground was a big help. That’s my first winner for Tony Martin,” Phillip Enright said.
