Smart bumper performer Martello Park broke her jumping duck on attempt number four over flights in the Promote Your Business At Fairyhouse In 2018 Mares Maiden Hurdle.

The 13/8 favourite 'missed' the second last but up the run-in she was still able to fend off the sweet-travelling Sassy Diva by two and a quarter lengths.

The free-going Redhotfillypeppers kept going well enough after a front-running effort to end up three lengths back in third.

Danny Mullins rode Martello Park for his mother Mag who said: "She deserved that and came back well from a little mistake. I think she'll get three miles, and hopefully she's good enough to go for a Listed race. She's real genuine and honest.

"It's great for the lads (G S Racing Club). There are about ten of them and they are all retired."
