David Marnane has three horses running in this evening's Sovereign Path handicap at Leopardstown worth 100,000 euro (7.55pm). Maundy Money is a 10-year-old chasing a four timer. He has struck up a good partnership with in-form apprentice Connor King.
"He has a big chance and is in a rich vein of form. He has a good draw and jockey. Five years ago he came to Leopardstown on the back of three wins and was second (in the September Handicap)," Marnane said.
"He's a superstar horse. We've been trying to retire him, but he doesn't know when to lie down. Connor settles him really well."
On five-year-old Jamesie who is well used to big fields in top races, he said: "He also has a big chance. Nothing went right in Ascot for him. He's had a break and is freshened up.
"He has run in every big race - Stewards Cups and Buckinghams. We haven't had a handle on him this season, but we are very happy with him now and he runs well fresh."
His third charge is Seanie who has shown a fondness for Foxrock before.
"He's well handicapped off 89. I ran him too soon on the Saturday at Galway after he had run there a few days before," Marnane said.
"He has a good draw and ran really well at Leopardstown last year (in the September Handicap) when beaten a neck. A reproduction of that and he would win."
