The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery was won in good style by the topweight and Evens favourite Magnanimous. Shane Crosse took a lead from Anna Strada before hitting the front over a furlong out.
The son of Mehmaas, runner-up in two of his three runs in maidens, really strode out well on the good to firm ground and had lengths to spare over the keeping-on Amber Kite (4/1).
The winner was bought for E50,000 as a foal and is a half-brother to three winners.
Brendan Powell, assistant to winning trainer Joseph O’Brien, said: “His last two runs were good runs and Shane (Crosse) said today on that ground he flicks his toe and loved it. What he liked about him today was he relaxed and quickened up.
"He is a very big horse and is not just a two year old and will make into a nice three year old; he has loads of size.
"You'd say he is up to Stakes class after that and he'd deserve it somewhere along the line."
