Magic Daze is the star name on a seven-race jumping card at Clonmel this afternoon with the ground sure to be testing following the recent wet spell.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained mare finished second to stablemate Telmesomethinggirl in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last year and took well to fences last term scoring twice including a handicap at the Punchestown Festival meeting.

She appears to have found a nice opportunity on her reappearance against just three rivals in the Start Your Free Trial At //racingtv.com/join Mares Chase at 4.40.

Odds-on punters may try a short-priced double with Halibut in the Cashel Maiden Hurdle (2.55) as the Emmet Mullins-trained gelding looks set to go off at cramped odds following two placed bumper runs at Punchestown earlier this year.

Keith Donoghue takes the mount on the Chris Jones-owned five-year-old and he also holds strong claims in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle aboard Clairmc

The Gavin Cromwell-trained mare has been well-backed from 11/4 into around 6/4 this morning. Gaius bids to complete a hat-trick in the Suir Blueway Handicap Hurdle (2.20) following recent wins at Punchestown and Sligo, while Where’s Bunny is also well-fancied on a hat-trick in the concluding Clonmel Oil Chase Day November 17th Handicap Chase after scoring at Tramore a fortnight ago.

The going at Clonmel is currently described as soft to heavy, soft in places.
