Lyons/Latham/Jones on the Mark Again

Thu 11th Jun 2009, 19:03

The white and blue silks of Sean Jones are a very familiar sight on Irish racecourses these days and for the seventh time this season they were carried to victory when Perfect Symmetry made it third time lucky in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund (C & G) Maiden.

Keagan Latham 's mount prevailed by a short head from second market choice, Montecchio with the same distance back to the favourite, Boxing Day in third.

Successful trainer, Ger Lyons said: "I've always liked him but I ran him too soon at Dundalk and he was never going to be a five furlong horse. Because of that it was nearly like he was having his first run at Leopardstown the next time and he didn't show the improvement I thought he might. He is a good honest horse with a good attitude."

Gleaming Silver scored at this course for the same connections a fortnight back and indeed they had a double with Leandros and Love Lockdown at Naas on the first of the month. It wasn't surprising then to hear Lyons quip: "Sean is my Aga Khan!"
