Elegant Pose stormed home to catch Making Light on the line in the Listed Clodovil Irish EBF Garnet Stakes at Naas.
Pat Smullen and Making Light looked all over the winner in the final furlong but Elegant Pose found plenty for Colin Keane to finish with a real rattle.
The winner was fifth at the furlong marker and fourth with 100 yards to go. However, nothing could live with her in the closing stages as the 9/4 favourite got up by a short head. I'm So Fancy (13/2) was three quarters of a length back in third.
This gave Ger Lyons and Colin Keane a Naas double as they also took the Birdcatcher with Moonlight Bay
Ger Lyons said: "I didn't see that happening in the last furlong. She's some little titch. She's green as grass and never travelled like we thought she would.
“We thought coming back to the mile would be no problem to her. This dam is so lucky for Glenburnie, with Brendan (Brackan) winning yesterday and now this filly.
“She can only improve for a winter on her back because we've been training her with next year in mind.
“The sky is the limit and we have a lovely filly on our hands. She's a huge addition to the yard and I'm looking forward to her next year.
“I'm after getting a buzz out of that because I didn't see it happening a furlong down. It's a good day at the office.
“I got some pleasure out of Brendan Brackan winning yesterday but that's nearly after equalling it.
“It's great for Mrs Patino who flew over to see her on Thursday. She's a lovely woman who just loves her horses.”
This victory moved Keane six ahead of Smullen in the jockeys' title race - 89-83.
