The Rapscallion Syndicate-owned Lord Gorgeous justified his position as the 11/8 market-leader in the Irish EBF Stallion Auction Series Maiden at Dundalk.

For Johnny Murtagh and Ben Coen the son of Bathed Breath was the only one of these with previous experience and he put it to good use to just see off market rival Elzaam Tales by a head.

“He was sharp and jumped well. He travelled away but got a bit lonely in the last furlong. He won with a bit in hand I think,” said Coen.

“It was a big ask for a two-year-old to make the running the whole way but he’s done it well and is a nice horse going forward.”
