Abstraction ran out a cosy winner of the five furlong handicap at Tipperary for Banbridge handler Sarah Dawson.
Seamie Heffernan tracked the front-running Judies Child throughout and asked his mount to pick off that rival at the furlong pole.
The Majestic Missile colt kept on strongly in the closing stages and was going away in good style at the line for a two-length success.
The winner had shaped well at Naas on his handicap debut last month and was dropping back to the minimum trip having won a maiden over five at Dundalk last November.
Money had come for Abstraction this morning from 13/2 into 4/1 and he was eventually sent off 9/2 joint-favourite along with on course gamble All Ablaze (opened 7/1) who finished last.
“It's a long way to Tipperary,” joked the northern handler afterwards.
“He was in the lorry for five hours and in that heat you don't know what way they will react. He'd never done a trip like that before.
“He did it well and we'll see how he is in the morning before we make plans.”
The winner was bought by Italian owner Natalia Lupini for just €6,000 at the Goresbridge breeze-up sales and Dawson quipped: “She's our new bloodstock agent!”
