The curtain came down on the 2022 Listowel Harvest Festival this afternoon with a record crowd for a Saturday.
Outgoing Racecourse Chairman Pat Healy confirmed that the attendance of 11,053 was a new high, bettering the previous record for a Saturday of 9,347 in 2019.
Punters flocked to the festival throughout the seven days, with owners, trainers and stable staff being very complimentary of how the event was organised.
Following the success of Thecompanysergeant in the closing bumper, Denis Hogan added; "I have to thank Listowel for the top class ground they have and for the way they treated the lads in the stable yard.
"There was free food and the owners were looked after superbly and everyone was raving about it.
"Even today the place is packed and they are putting bigger racecourses to shame with the crowds. Fair play to the committee."
There were 25,700 racegoers for the Kerry National fixture on Wednesday while 27,232 were in attendance for Ladies Day on Friday.
The Harvest Festival meeting attracted a total attendance of 90,000 over the seven days.
