After winning her maiden hurdle over the course and distance last September, the Pauline Gavin trained Lilymile repeated the dose nearly a year on as she took the last at Ballinrobe this evening, the Broderick's Electrical Handicap Hurdle.
Ridden by Alan Crowe, the 7yo daughter of Revoque was sent off at 16/1 and she raced in mid-division in the early stages.
She made headway into fourth at the third last and was ridden into second as they raced around the home bend.
She challenged the leader Sids Choice (16/1) at the last and soon hit the front before that fellow came with a renewed challenge but she just managed to hold him off by a head at the line.
The pair went six and a half lengths clear of the 9/4 favourite Slim To None who finished third under Andrew Ring for Philip Rothwell.
As already stated Lilymile won her maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe last September at the odds of 33/1. She since ran five times and was well beaten on each occasion.
Earlier in her career she did win a point-to-point at Killashee in November of 2010.
Pauline Gavin said afterwards: "We are delighted to get another win with her. She came back to form recently but just ran a bit free at Kilbeggan last time out. She might come back here for her beginners chase next."
