The competitive two mile handicap hurdle at Tipperary was won from the front by Liberty’s Gift (16/1) and Mick Darcy.
The pair were chased round the home turn by Pink Coat and Bryan Cooper and Invincible Don and Patrick Mangan.
The 7/4 favourite Pink Coat would have been short in-running to grab the win, but despite moving well was unable to bridge the gap to the winner after jumping the last and was three parts of a length in arrears at the line.
Grey horse Pink Coat was hammered down from 5/1 this morning by punters who also couldn’t get enough of her at the track as her price contracted from 11/4 on opening show.
Invincible Don was third, beaten two and three quarter lengths at 7/1. Punters were also keen on Grange (13/2), but this one fell at the fourth when racing in rear.
“He’s a funny type of horse in that he doesn’t like it firm or soft. He likes a nice bit of juice, but you don’t get that too often,” trainer Paul Flynn said.
“He’s been running average all year, but he can be tricky with his wind and no operation seems to fix it. If he jumps a fence they’ll have plenty more fun with him. The Have Another Syndicate are from Westmeath.”
