Last to first for Kate Greenaway
Niall McCullagh brought Kate Greenaway from last to first to win going away in the one mile handicap at Leopardstown.
The bottom weight swooped past 9/2 favourite Flic Flac over one hundred yards out to win at 7/1 with her in-form jockey.
The success came with some drama as Wexford trainer Thomas James explained: “I got her off the horse box and thought she was in season so thought I should tell the stewards.
“I didn’t know what way she would go. Some improve and some go the other way but it didn’t seem to affect her.
“That’s my second winner. I had a National Hunt winner a couple of weeks ago. I’ve had a permit for six or seven years but only took out the full license last year.
“I have flat horses for the first time this year. She is a nice filly and has been running consistently well.
“The owner, Lucy Norton, is my partner.” Act Of Love backed from 8/1 to 6/1, was a length and a quarter away in second while Beauty Express completed the placings in third at 13/2, supported in from 8/1.
After hitting the front over a furlong out Flic Flac was outgunned and finished fourth for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen. She had been raised eight pounds in the handicap for her previous win at Down Royal.
