Six Silver Lane justified favouritism as he won the Follow Us On Twitter Handicap under Fran Berry for Johnny Feane.
The grey son of Aussie Rules was available at 4/1 this morning, but he opened on-course at just 5/2, touching 11/4, before going off at his starting price.
Having won over the course and distance on his penultimate start, he disappointed when sent off favourite again over the course and distance last month.
He had a bad drawn out in twelve that night, and drawn on the rail in stall one this evening he was settled behind the leaders.
Turning for home he travelled smoothly, and he hit the front just inside the two furlong pole.
He was ridden along over a furlong out, and he kept from there to score comfortably by two and a half lengths. Pirate Cove ran a fine race on her handicap debut to take second at 5/1 under Pat Smullen for Dermot Weld, while Trans City was a further half a length back in third under Ana O’Brien for James Nash at 16/1.
Feane, recording his sixth success in the training ranks, said afterwards: "He won well enough. The last night here had a too much daylight on the wide outside.
"It wasn’t the jockeys fault, he was drawn twelve and it’s tough around here when you are drawn out wide.
"I don’t know what the handicapper will do now. He will jump a hurdle, he jumps really well and he will go with a little bit of ease in the ground as well."
