He took over from Mill House Girl at the head of affairs approaching the turn for home and was never in danger from there in, passing the post with five lengths in hand of Red Vinto.

A quick reappearance also reaped reward for 2-1 favourite Born High in division one of the Charlie Chute Memorial Maiden Hurdle.

Michael Hourigan's four-year-old was a commendable sixth in the competitive affair won by Sesenta on Tuesday and taking the lead between the last two here, ran on strongly to defeat Diaego by three-quarters of a length, although he did have to survive a stewards' inquiry.

Barry Geraghty followed up Conem's success when City Meaning fought off Dunroe Lady in the second division.

The runner-up went haring off in front but looked beaten when the 9-4 market leader took over after the last. However, she fought hard and Geraghty had to be at his strongest to keep his mount in front by three-quarters of a length.

Stamina won the day as Glenquin Castle (9-1) saw out the three-mile trip best in the Charleville Cheese Maiden Hurdle.< Shake The Bottle looked to have matters sewn up when scooting clear after three out, but he was being pressed by the winner when fluffing the last and Glenquin Castle took full advantage, scoring by five and a half lengths.

Mark Bolger struck for home some way out on Randall's Diana and the move paid dividends when the 12-1 shot hung on determinedly in the Martinstown Opportunity Hurdle, but the rider's bid for a double in the following Guinness Surge Handicap Chase was foiled when his mount Ballito was caught close home by Kilbane River (12-1).
