Von Krolock broke his maiden at the 17th attempt on his first visit to Dundalk this evening, giving in-form trainer/jockey combination Tim Doyle and Wayne Hassett another winner.
The Morpheus gelding got a nice run through towards the inner to challenge two furlongs from home and hit the front before the furlong marker.
He did drift slightly right over onto Stormie Outlook just inside the final furlong but the 7/2 favourite was nicely on top late on as he posted a length-and-a-quarter success.
The stewards had a look into the finishing stages of the seven-furlong handicap but the result stood.
Doyle said: "He loved it (surface) - that's what Wayne said, he was always in his comfort zone.
"He's in the sales on Monday so if somebody wants fun for the winter, he is there for sale. We'll see what happens.
"He's a very good-actioned horse. He got bogged down in the Curragh last week, but he had a couple of good runs before that.
"It took me a while to learn that he didn't want soft. I ran him in Listowel and it was too soft for him and I still didn't learn, and I went back to the Curragh.
"He's a nice horse and he is only developing, he's a big raw horse so there is more improvement in him.
"We are flying it, they are in top order. One lifts the other, they are working together and they are all coming on.
"That's 19 winners for the year."
