Krabat flew the last to record an easy win in the Monksgrange Beginners Chase at Clonmel this afternoon.

The Michael McDonagh-trained gelding was gaining due reward having been runner-up on his last two outings, narrowly denied on both occasions.

He made no mistake this time as the seven-year-old took it up going to the second last and cruised clear before the final fence under Cathal Landers.

The 11/4 joint-favourite went on to post an 11-length success over Duchess Ravenwaves

"It was straightforward enough and off his mark in a handicap the last day, he had a good chance,” said the winning rider.

"His experience stood to him and he handled the ground better than most. He is a big galloping horse."
