King Of Bavaria is driven out by Wayne Lordan

King of Bavaria (7/1, from 10/3 overnight) was a first-time-out winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
The No Nay Never colt, who cost $300,000 as a yearling at Keeneland, was in the front rank throughout upsides the 10/11 favourite Celtic Times
Ridden to lead over a furlong out, Aidan O’Brien’s charge kept on well inside the final furlong to score by three quarters of a length from the keeping-on Silver Surfer (4/1) with the market leader finding no extra in third.
The winner, who handled the ground well (yielding to soft after 14mm of rain overnight) was put in at 12/1 by Paddy Power for next month’s Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Winning rider Wayne Lordan said: “He jumped a tad slow but got into stride quick and showed plenty of pace.
"He showed a little bit of greenness in the last furlong but I thought he got to the line well.
“He’s a nice big colt.”
