The five-day Killarney July meeting gets underway this evening with the welcome return of a limited number of racegoers and bookmakers, while Dundalk also hosts an afternoon fixture on the Polytrack.

Paddy Twomey and Billy Lee combined to land the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse yesterday afternoon, and the pair again team up with a couple of live chances at Killarney. La Petite Coco ran a cracker last time when only going down by a half-a-length to Willow in the Listed Oaks Trial at Naas and she now takes a drop in class in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race (7.15).

The Twomey/Lee alliance are also in action earlier on the card with Corps Des Pages in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race at 5.15.

The son of Frankel has already landed a Limerick maiden this term but faces stiff opposition from the likes of Horoscope and Eylara Nebo caused a 33/1 shock at Fairyhouse last week and Tom Hogan’s charge is likely to adopt front-running tactics again under a 6lb penalty in the Gap Of Dunloe Handicap (6.15), with Eagle’s Flight, Freescape and Roca Roma all fancied rivals.

John Murphy has a good record at the track and the Cork trainer could strike with Rosscarbery in the Torc Waterfall Fillies Maiden (6.45), although demoted Curragh ‘winner’ Citronnade is feared.

Following a dry day yesterday and 3mm of rain overnight, the going is currently described as good to yielding (good in places) on the Flat course.

There is light rain at present which is forecast to clear later. The outlook is for a mainly dry week with warm temperatures.

The first of seven races at Killarney gets underway at 4.45pm, while Dundalk’s eight-race afternoon meeting begins at 1pm.

Lipizzaner, soundly beaten last time in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot takes a big drop in class in the opening Hollywoodbets Donates To Irish Horse Welfare Trust Handicap, while Aidan O’Brien and Wayne Lordan also team up with Malawi in the Hollywoodbets Best Odds Guaranteed Maiden (4.30).
