The Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Maiden saw an impressive winner in the shape of the John McConnell-trained A Case Of You (15/2).
The Hot Streak colt tracked the leaders towards the outer before hitting the front just outside the furlong marker.
He picked up well and raced away to beat newcomer Earls Rock (14/1) by two and three quarter lengths, with 3/1 second favourite Feeling Tipp Top back in third.
8/11 favourite Messidor made the running but faded from the furlong pole to finish sixth.
The winner had come home in front in a 6-runner barrier trial at Dundalk in July, and ran well on his ‘official’ debut when prominent for a long way before finishing third at Bellewstown last week.
Winning rider Colin Keane remarked: "He had a very good run the last day [when third in Bellewstown] - our own horse (Ecliptical) beat him and probably isn't a bad horse.
"He didn't have the best of the draws today, but he was very straightforward. He was still a little bit green when he got there and was running around a little bit, so you would imagine he will improve again.
"He handles that easy ground well. He's a nice, little horse now.
"I'd say he would handle it a bit quicker as he is a good-moving horse, but he just probably excels on that ground. Nice to get a winning bracket for the lads.
"John (McConnell) wasn't too confident about the draw, but on his last run you would have thought he would take a lot of beating. Thankfully he has won for him."
