Champion Jockey Colin Keane completed a Dundalk double this evening as Bowerman notched a tenth career win, landing the concluding Lengthen The Odds With BetVictor Race by a nose.
Keane was earlier successful on the James McAuley trained Ajax Tavern and steered Bowerman to a first win since collecting the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup, a Listed race, at Doha on February 19, 2021.
Bowerman passed the post a nose ahead of Isle Of Stark, with half a length to third-placed Summit Star
Following today's race, winning trainer Ado McGuinness stated “it's great to get him back and that's also why Colin is champion jockey. He was brilliant, very strong as Bowerman was probably a little cute, as he came there to win and half pulled up a little bit.
“We're going to make an entry in the Lincoln for him and that's where he'll go. He owes us nothing, we've had some fun with this horse all over the world and he's just brilliant to have.
“He was a bit sore when he came back last year and it took us a long time to get him back to where we wanted him, but he's back and I think he'll be competitive this year in some nice big handicaps.
“That was competitive, these races aren't easy won. It's great for the lads, who are a great bunch and have supported me. We've been a bit lean for a while and it's great to get another winner for them.”
