Kailasa got a deserved win to her name, as she made the breakthrough in the concluding La Celia Wines Irish EBF Fillies Maiden.

Fourth on debut over the course and distance in April, the Johnny Murtagh-trained victor was placed on her three starts since, finishing third when last seen at Roscommon earlier this month.

Sent off a 9/2 chance this afternoon, the Starspangledbanner bay raced in mid-division under Ben Coen, taking closer order from the two-furlong pole.

Ridden in third with a furlong to go, the Aga Khan-owned victor got to the front inside the final 100 yards and kept on well from there to score by a length-and-a-quarter.

The Willie McCreery-trained Counterculture (10/3) filled the runner-up spot under Billy Lee, while White Clover (16/5f), who led for much of the contest, was a head away in third.

"Ben said she travelled very strongly, and the track probably suited her better," Murtagh, who was on the mark with Masoun at Down Royal yesterday, commented.

"I ran her in Down Royal and she jumped a little pathway and then in Roscommon she was drawn on the outside, ran a bit keen and didn't quite get home.

"Ben thought today dropping her in over this trip, she ran well at the Curragh earlier in the year, and she did it very well. She travelled well and I liked the way she hit the line.

"Six or seven is probably good. She's rated 77, she was rated 80 before, so I'd say it’s a fair mark for her."
