Johnne & David Credit Nash with a win
Johnne Joblot and David Casey put up an amazing performance to credit James Nash with his first winner as a trainer in the Bobbyjo Bistro Handicap Hurdle.
Still a moderate seventh two out, the 7/2 favourite looked a forlorn hope at that stage, but he stayed on into fifth at the last, and weaving his way between rivals on the run-in, the ten-year-old got on top inside the final fifty yards to prevail by a length and a quarter over Cloncrave
Nash said: "The race went from looking terrible to looking great all of a sudden. We'll try and get our revenge in the Lady Riders race at Clonmel next Thursday. David gave him a great ride there. I'd say I've got my licence to train about a month at this stage."
A former leading amateur rider, Nash was referring to the fact that Johnne Joblot had run out at the last at Thurles under Katie Walsh when looking all over a winner almost a month ago. (EM)
