There were lots of horses in with a shout passing the furlong marker in the Gormanlough Apprentice Handicap but it was Jazzelle (14/1) who found most to win under Jamie Powell.
The daughter of Red Jazz led close home to score by a neck and the same from Victory March and Evergreen And Red
It was a fourth career win for Powell, who lost his 10lb claim on Wednesday at Gowran Park.
Jazzelle, runner-up at Leopardstown on her previous start, was making the breakthrough on her eighteenth career start.
Winning trainer Chris Timmons said: “That's my first winner and it's great to get it. We had a few knocking on the door and it's nice to get one over the line.
“I just got my licence this summer and I'm based in Batterstown in County Meath.
“Myself and my partner, Joanne Lavery, started off pin-hooking foals, unsuccessfully!
“We weren't getting what we wanted for horses so the next thing is to put the colours on. I have a restricted licence.
“The two horses that ran here (Chacha Dancer was 5th) ran a few weeks ago in both divisions of a nice furlong race at Leopardstown and I was hoping this race would divide to give them both a chance.
Jump jockey Timmons added: “I'm still riding and I'm just back in Eddie Cawley's in the last couple of weeks as he has all the winter horses in.
“I was at this for the summer, getting set up. Eddie has some nice horses and I'll be trying to get on a few of them.”
When asked about his emotions throughout the race today he added:- “It's very nerve racking and I probably got more of a kick out of that than riding as a lot of work goes into it.
“Jamie was recommended to me and did exactly what I said, he gave her a peach. I was happy at every stage. I knew she was fit and was hopeful.”
