Another day another winner for the season's leading apprentice Gavin Ryan who steered Danger Money home in the extended mile and a half maiden at Tipperary.
He was seen rowing away in second on the Nayef three-year-old three furlongs from home.
His mount responded generously, though, to pass Silver Fox straightening for home. The well backed 13/2 shot, from 11/1, was ridden over a furlong out and kept finding to take the honours by half a length. Dewcup was held in second at 9/2 from 13/2, and he was two and a quarter lengths in front of the easy to back Watchmen (9/2).
Trainer Andrew Oliver said: "it was Gavin's first time riding for me and he gave him a super ride.
"The horse is improving, the penny is dropping and hopefully he will develop into a nice horse. He is very well-bred and is entitled to be able to do it."
Regarding a possible future sale, he added: "In the times we're in we have to concentrate on the first job which is racing and after that we'll see. He is entitled to stay and get better as he gets older, so let's hope it all goes in the right direction.
“We have a cracking bunch of young lads riding now. I’ve had a few of them ride for me and they’re great lads. They do all the right things on the track, and when you fire a question at them after a race they come back with jockey answers, not young lad answers. We’re very fortunate, they’re a great bunch.”
This was Ryan's 14th winner in the last three weeks. Two of Oliver's last three runners have won, and he is three from 12 going further back.
