Ifeoinly got away with a bad mistake at the final fence to run out an easy winner of the Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Mares Maiden Hunters' Chase at Cork.
The Eoin McCarthy trained eight-year-old took up the running turning out of the back straight and always looked to be travelling well once jockey Brian Lawless switched her to the stands side.
It was a first racecourse winner for Lawless who has had 40 point to point winners. The 23 year old from Delgany, is based with Matthew Flynn O'Connor and Donnachadh Doyle
A win appeared to be a formally as she approached the last with a bit to spare but having ploughed right through that obstacle the mare momentarily looked in trouble.
To her credit, she quickly gathered herself and went away to win convincingly.
A largely consistent mare who had won four times in point to points, this was her first win on just her second start under rules.
Winning trainer Eoin McCarthy said; "she is a lovely tough honest mare and I'm delighted for Brendan (Walsh, from Galway) who has had a great run with her this season.
"At this grade she is a really nice competitive mare and will stick to the hunter chase grade and will probably go back point to pointing next season.
"We will have a look at a winners' of one hunters chase at Tipperary next."
