Gordon Elliott's Icario (8/1) foiled a punt on Hearts Are Trumps in the extended two mile handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe.

Hearts Are Trumps found top gear in the closing stages but by then Icario had put the race away upon picking off Powersbomb before the last.

Icario was driven out on the run-in by Jack Kennedy and had a length in hand of fast-finishing Hearts Are Trumps (5/2 joint favourite from 5/1 in the morning).

Powersbomb (8/1) came in third, a further two and a quarter lengths away.

"We went very quick early on and my lad just kept going," Jack Kennedy said.

"He picked up off the quick pace and stuck at it well."
