Hyperdrive showed the benefit of his jumping experience to land the Paulstown Maiden Hurdle at Gowran for Jessica Harrington and Robbie Power.
Placed on all three previous starts over flights, the successful Mastercraftsman grey was one of five with hopes from two out here.
Well-backed favourite Panther Soul was keen early and didn't jump well enough.
To his credit the Willie Mullins and Paul Townend runner was still there with a chance until late on, but he couldn't match Hyperdrive from before the last and went down by three and a half lengths.
"His experience stood to him today and he jumped well. The little bit of juice that is in the ground helped him because it was on the firm side for him in Navan," said Mrs Harrington.
"He's owned by Vimal Khosla and they owned the yearling (full-sister to Forever Together) that made 3.2 million during the week. It's the first time he's ever had a jumper I think.
"We'll keep him going for the moment, and he might not go on real heavy ground."
The Stewards fined Eugene M. O'Sullivan, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Da Vinci Rock (FR), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Da Vinci Rock (FR) in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (iv).
