Hurricane Carter scores for O'Leary

The Tom O'Leary trained Hurricane Carter justified favouritism when winning The Kilcash Chase under Davy Russell.

Russell made all on the Zaffran gelding, clear when slight mistake 2 out, kept on well from last to hold off the fast finishing Dooneys Gate of Willie Mullins by 2 ? lengths.

O'Leary said afterwards, "He's a giant of a horse, even though he is a 9 year old he still has some growing to do. We want to have him for awhile so he will only have another 2 or 3 runs this season. There is a 3 mile novice race Sunday week at Navan that he may go for."
