Trainer Dessie Hughes recorded his 17th winner of the season when his The Rall won the Sheestown Hurdle at Gowran, a 10th in the same period for jockey Roger Loughran.

The son of Old Vic, backed from 8/1 in the morning into 3/1 SP, raced prominently before eventually getting to the front on the run-in, scoring a two length win over Kirbybroguelantern

Afterwards Hughes mentioned "this horse is going the right way and is a very promising horse to look forward to when he goes chasing."
