The betting centred around Sure Reef (a general 6/1 this morning but bigger in places into 5/2) and Summer Knight (14s this morning into 6s) but Our Conor (16s into 12s) wasn't ignored either for the concluding Bet 10euros Get 10euros on tote.com Handicap at Naas and the latter came out on top under Mark Enright.
There wasn't much pace here and as a result plenty still had hopes from early in the straight but Dessie Hughes' Our Conor challenged and led from over a furlong out before going on to defeat Beat The Ballot by half a length. The aforementioned market-leader, Sure Reef was in trouble turning-in and he eventually stayed on to take fifth place.
Hughes was pleased with the Man About Town Syndicate-owned three-year-old and he commented: "He was good in Roscommon (won his maiden there 16 days ago) too.
"He might go over a bit further the next day. He's a nice little horse to have and he might run on the flat at Galway.
"Maybe a mile there would be stiff enough. He lacks a little bit in experience but when he got there he did it well." (GC & EM)
