The Dessie Hughes trained Beneath The Radar landed The McGrath Quarry Group Hurdle in convincing fashion under Roger Loughran in the colours of Gerry Burke.

Winning trainer Hughes said afterwards, "I felt he was entitled to win with the three non-runners in the race. We were a bit of afraid of Clarkey after his run at Thurles. He's a nice type of horse and he'll go to Punchestown next week for either a 2 mile Handicap Hurdle or a 2 ? mile Handicap Hurdle."
