The opening race in Gowran Park this evening was won by Aidan O'Brien's Drumbeat with Seamus Heffernan doing the steering for owners Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor.

Heffernan rode settled his mount in behind the leaders and improved to lead under 1f out and stayed on well to win by 2 lengths.

Seamus Heffernan said afterwards, 'He did that well, he has plenty of speed and will have no problem dropping back to 6f.'
