Hash Brown impressed on his way to victory in the two and a half mile maiden hurdle in Ballinrobe.
The 5/4 favourite, from 2/1 in the morning, travelled strongly in tracking Little Rocky to the second last. He powered away before the final hurdle and hacked up by three and three quarter lengths.
Handler Michael Hourigan said: “He should have won a bumper here. We’ll look for a winners’ of one in Killarney. He’ll make a nice chaser.” Long House Saint at 12/1 came through to finish second while Little Rocky at 15/8 was a further two and three quarter lengths down in third.
A.P. Heskin, rider of Long House Saint, trained by Michael P. Hourigan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount clipped a heel and stumbled in the back straight.
