Harrington doubles up with Harbour
Bullock Harbour gave Jessica Harrington a quick double at Killarney this evening when taking the novice hurdle on the card. Catcherinscratcher was a well-backed 7/4 favourite (from 5/2 in morning) in the 2m6f event and jumped out in front.
Robbie Power sent Bullock Harbour up to challenge at the third last and he went to the front before the next. Rattan was a persistent challenger from the final flight but couldn't find a way past, going down by half a length at the line.
Winning owner Barry Connell partnered his last winner in the saddle aboard the gelding and said afterwards:-
"Robbie said that was as soft as he wants it. Two-and-a-half or three miles on real good ground is his trip.
"He'll go for the two-and-a-half mile winners of two novice hurdle at Listowel. That's the obvious target."
It was only Power's second ride since returning from a fractured wrist, suffered at Bellewstown early last month.
Harrington had also claimed the opening juvenile hurdle with the Mark Bolger-ridden The Quiet Hawk.
