The complexion of the race changed in the dying strides in the second division of the mile handicap at Dundalk as Clare Harrier powered home to lead on the line. Sophies Echo led two furlongs out but was grabbed close home by Confident Cub

His lead was short lived, however, as Clare Harrier put his head in front where it mattered for a short-head success under Colin Keane.

The winner, sent off a 7/1 shot from 9/1, had just been denied by a neck on his last visit here earlier this month.

It was a first winner in just over two years for Garristown handler David Geraghty who said:-

"I had a winner here a couple of years ago (Goodbye Earl, 6th November 2010). I have just the one in training at the minute.

"He's had a bit of trouble. We'll keep him going here. Fair play to the jockey - he got there!"
