The HOLLYWOODBETS HORSE RACING AND SPORTS BETTING Handicap saw Andy Slattery field two runners and No Patience (11/1) came home in front under the County Tipperary trainer’s son Andrew.
Equipped with blinkers and cheek-pieces in the past, it was a visor on this occasion for No Patience.
Whilst his stable companion Trusty Scout finished at the back of the field, up front the successful Epaulette gelding chased the leaders, and he was pushed along in fourth two furlongs out.
Ridden to lead a furlong out, No Patience stayed on well to beat Red Contender and Hala Joud by a length and a quarter and a length.
“He blew up the last night and just needed the run,” said Slattery senior.
“He was in with a nice weight there. I was just worried about the two maiden winners but it worked out well.
“I'm delighted for the man (Seamus McGrath) that owns him. He works for Croom House Stud and has a few horses for an interest. He's after winning two races for him so he's delighted.
“He maybe ran around a bit the last night so that's why we put the visors on to help concentrate him a bit more. Being gelded has also helped him.
“He's in here Monday but I don't think he'll run. He could as he's a hardy lad but it's a 0-65 handicap and he'd have top weight. He's only a small horse so I might wait.”
G.F. Carroll, rider of The Highway Rat trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran free early on.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ferrybank (GB), trained by T.M. Walsh, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
