Gudnis Gracious Me recorded her first win in over two years, as she made all to take the Fay Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle under Mikey Butler for his father Michael.

The eight-year-old daughter of Mull of Kintyre was recording her seventh career victory this evening on her eighteen start since her last success.

She ran well on her previous two outings this year at Limerick and Downpatrick, and she was sent off at just 9/1.

After leading from the start, she was ridden and stayed on well to draw clear away from the last, scoring by seven lengths at the line.

Liberty’s Gift finished back in second at 7/1 for Paul Flynn, while The Book Thief was ten lengths back in third under David Splaine for Eoghan O’Grady at 20/1. Fitzgutentyte was sent off the 10/3 favourite under Danny Mullins for Colm Murphy and she finished in eighth, having been hampered before the second last (usually the third last). Point The Toes who was sent off at 5/1, fell at the fifth, and the final flight was omitted as a result.

His rider Shane Butler has been taken to Tullamore General Hospital.

Winning rider Mikey Butler said afterwards: "I got my own way in front and she likes that bit of nice ground."

The winner was formerly trained by John O'Shea and she was making her sixth start for Michael Butler this evening.
